Every once in a while I take pictures of myself using Photobooth while I’m working on various projects. Going through these photos I’ve discovered quite an interesting collection, dating back to about 2007. The pictures unintentionally capture a lot of what is going on in my life at the time.
Thought I would share a sample with you.
Why share now? Well, there are big changes ahead. On Saturday, I move. My boyfriend – who will, from now on, be known as M so I can stop referring to “my boyfriend” – and I are moving into a new place. Lots of new beginnings: New place to live, New person to be living with (!), and new city… (Kitchener – but close to Guelph!), oh and new job, since my contract was funded by the government which means I get to continue on working at the same place – just a new program to begin – starting April 1st.
Lots of new! It’s a bit scary. But, I’m comforted by the knowledge that no matter where I go in life… up, down, on detours I never thought I’d take, and sometimes almost completely lost, I always manage to find myself.
In no particular order:

Lovely shots of you over the years! What an exciting next phase-M is a lucky man. I hope you enjoy living in Kitchener. We used to live in Waterloo and loved the KW area. Congrats on the new contract-you do such important work for such a potentially vulnerable group of people, I’m glad to hear you’re able to continue. Best wishes for a smooth transition.
Hey Lady! If you are moving to Kitchener you should drop me a line so we can reconnect! We are still holding Gail club meetings as well – Tuesday nights – if you are ever in the mood to attend!
Congratulations on your new chapter!
Big steps great beginings!!
I think you have it all under control and hopefully you have a beautiful moving day to start your new journey toghter as partners.
I’m sure miss kitty will love her new diggs.
Can’t wait to see some new pictures of your place. Kitchener is a nice place to be and lots of markets. I bought my bedroom quilt in Kitchener which was made by the Meninities and that was over 36 years ago. Still look brand new and washes well.
It is sooo wonderful to hear such supportive comments, especially on the eve of such a big life change. Thank you, thank you!
FMW – definitely I will get in touch once I get settled! Is it the same group at the Gail Clubs or did you attract any new members? Same location?
Witch – where did you get your quilt? St. Jacob’s? so many gorgeous quilts in that area. Kitty will love the bigger space… not sure how she is going to adapt to her new roommate, though. She is a princess!
Thanks again!
That’s exciting that you’re moving
We moved to Kitchener in October from Edmonton, and am slowly meeting people and settling in. Is there a Gail’s club in the area??
Hi Ladies – Sorry this took so long. The Gail Club is the same one we started years ago. We’ve had people come and go from it so there have been new faces along the way. It meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Tim Hortons at the corner of Lackner and Victoria Streets in Kitchener.
Please send me an email to thequesttobe@gmail.com
We’d love to see you both out as soon as you are settled!
So beautiful xo
