Savings tips from Big Bang Theory’s Sheldon
Posted on November 22nd, 2009 4 commentsI love watching The Big Bang Theory. I especially love this show because I just finished working at a theoretical physics institute, so I can compare the characters to people I actually know. In this episode, one of the main characters, Sheldon, a physicist with very limited social skills, gives great advice on how to get “statistically significant savings” on groceries and personal care products.

Tee hee-thanks for sharing. I just found this show recently, and it really makes me giggle. I know people similar to these guys too. I adore the phrase “statistically significant savings”.

I was listening to NPR and they mentioned this show and now I see it here. Maybe I should give it a try. This was so funny. I would be blushing like crazy to have that conversation with anyone.

My husband IS Sheldon (he has ASD). We watch this show together every Sunday night (always the same routine of course ) and we sit there and laugh at how much they have in common. Actually, I laugh he just sits there denying it, but good-heartedly. It would not occur to him to be embarrassed about talking about a natural bodily function, either.

I should add that the first present he ever gave me was a bread knife. The second – “Your Money or Your Life”.
