I think I have that coupon somewhere! But I don’t have a zellers near by & I don’t think it’s worth the drive out.

Rags2Riches - yeah probably not worth the drive if it’s not close by. Luckily here in this small town almost everything is minutes away!! I’m still getting used to that!
Andrea - how many coupons have you accumulated for the shave gel? I seem to have 4 of them!

Thanks Andrea! Good to know. Still not sure what kind of material my readers would like to see more of so I enjoy getting the feedback!

I was just at Zellers. The coupons I had from Save.ca were not accepted. I was told it was because the item was already on sale.
Anyone else have this problem? -

They are wrong, wrong, wrong. There is no restriction. I just used four coupons for four shave gels at Zellers. You are *definitely* allowed to use coupons for on-sale items, and just fyi, when it says one per purchase, you can make as many purchases as you want and use a separate coupon for each.
I would call or go back to the store, and if you get hassled, point out that there is no restriction on the coupon, and then ask for the manager.
I use coupons for on-sale items at Zellers and all other places of business.
So strange. The store gets the money back from the coupons so i don’t know what her problem was.

She called over her supervisor, and she couldn’t get the coupon to scan in either, and then told me that they were already on sale, and that was why the coupon was refused in the system. Could there be a problem with the coupon? I live in Alberta.
Think I will contact Save.ca to see what they have to say. -

The coupons should be totally applicable in Alberta. My guess it was something wrong with their scanner, not the coupon. I’m sure it wasn’t the sale that was a problem. If you get a hold of save.ca, let me know what they say!
If zellers is nearby, you might want to try again, this time with at a different check-out. Might just be a fluke. Not that you want to waste all your time with this. But this kind of thing just bugs me!

Just heard back from save.ca - their response was: “Most retailers don’t apply coupons to sale items.”

Weird, isn’t it? Because I almost exclusively use coupons on sale items!
What a bummer… better luck next time, Donna!
Anyone else experiencing that problem?

An update - according to a customer service supervisor at Hbc online, coupons can be used at Zellers as long as the value of the coupon does not exceed the sale price of the item.
Guess I learn something new everyday!!

Thanks for looking into that, Donna!

Shoppers Drug Mart has it on sale this week for $1.99. I used my coupon for $2.00 off and there were no questions or comments! Gotta love that!

Thanks Shelley! Somehow I forgot to look at this week’s flyer! Glad you got the freebie! I also noticed that Rexall had Colgate Pro-Health toothpaste on for $1.97 - with the $2 off coupon, that’s a freebie. Too bad I already used my coupon when it was not on sale!
