It is always good to read your opinion about the products on sale this week. Thanks!

Sorry, but I still haven’t set up a website…but don’t forget Cracker Barrel Cheese at Loblaws or Sobeys for $4.99. Sobeys has the Catelli 2/$3 as well, and Filipio olive oil for $6.99 (I scooped a couple of $1 off cpns this summer, so this is my last one).
And Loeb has Tropicana for $4.99 as well for the smaller jug. Still beats $6 and change! -

Thanks for the info. SQ…bought one of the chickens from Food Basics Sat. (it was $4.98) -roasted it with a whole lemon cut in wedges in the cavity, and peeled garlic under the skin. Gives an awesome flavour…with baked potato and kale that was one meal. Boiled the bones with veggies (cleaned out my bin) and got a huge bowl of homemade broth. This will be made into soup with the leftover chicken and other fresh veggies, rice/pasta. So, for $4.98 plus the lemon, veggies, and garlic I’ll get at least 3, possibly 4 meals.
The highliner salmon is delish too! -

Catherine, that is fabulous. Great to hear that you got one of those chickens at such a good price. When you consider how much you get out of it, it’s really amazing. I love that you made stock out of the bones along with the veggies by cleaning out your bin. That’s less than $1.25 per meal - and the veggies and rice wouldn’t add too much cost on top of that - and so healthy and tasty!

I just wanted to add - switch your Downy fabric softener for vinegar (on sale for $1.49 at Zehrs). You get 4L for $1.49 vs. less than 2L for $2.99 - twice as much for 1/2 the price….and better for the environment.

Argh! I had my great cpns set aside at the Sobeys cash by a boy that took soooo painfully long to pack my bags that he forgot to ring them through and I didn’t check until I got home! $6, GONE! I might as well have tossed the money out the van window! My husband wouldn’t let me call back, saying he’d give me the $6, but that’s not the point! I’m royally cheesed. Haven’t been there in over a year, and only went to use the new club card. As soon as I get $6 in points accumulated, I’m moving back to my old grocery stores!

@Sally, I’ve never tried that tip. Does the vinegar smell come through at all? (I’m guessing not, otherwise who would do it, haha!) I’ll have to give it a try!
@Michelle - I cracked up when I read your post - not because I’m not sympathetic, but because I can sooooo relate. This kind of thing happens to me too, and when it does, I can’t stand it!!! Josh always offers to give me the money too and I always tell him it’s not the point! It feels like throwing money out the window. This reminds me of a funny story - but maybe I’ll save it for a whole other post!

You will be surprised. I have never had anyone comment that I smelled like vinegar - and trust me my friends would tell me. I put it in the fabric softener dispenser of my washing machine just like you use your Downy. It is one of those wonder products that can be used all over the house.
