• Use eBay and Craiglist to your advantage this Christmas

Thinking of shopping online to get Christmas gifts at a discount?  Craigslist and eBay offer exciting deals.  We bought a Kitchenaid mixer at 1/3rd the cost - literally saving us at least a couple of hundred dollars.  We have also made money by buying stuff on eBay.  About 6 years ago, Josh bought a Fender Rhodes keyboard and then resold it recently at a $600 profit.  How? The keyboard was underpriced because the brand name was misspelled.  Buyers didn’t recognize it as what they were looking for and didn’t bid on it.  You can learn from our strategy: misspell the brand name you’re looking for - you just might find a brand name product drastically underpriced.

    1. BEWARE OF EBAY & PAYPAL!!!

ebay is FORCING the VAST MAJORITY of it’s users to use ONLY Paypal! Paypal is owned by ebay. It gets worse…

The new amendments to Paypal’s User Agreement policy allows Paypal at it’s “sole discretion” to withhold users funds for 21-180 days with NO possibility for arbitration! Paypal is allowed to KEEP ALL of the interest that they gain by withholding those users funds! Payal’s parent company, ebay, is headed by CEO Donahoe. His & previous CEO, Whitman’s, “Disruptive Innovation” SCHEME against ebay & Paypal users have already DESTROYED massive numbers of users finances!! Read what they are experiencing by doing an internet search of “Ebay Stockholders and Sellers Calling For Immediate Termination of John Donohoe CEO petition” (petitiononlinedotcom).

Even their own employees have written about the extremely poor management at ebay/Paypal and it’s devastating effects. Go to glassdoordotcom to read the comments.

    2. Great tips!!

And a Kitchenaid mixer! I want one so badly! I’ll have to take a look ;)

    3. Frugal dreamer, there is also a great sale on at The Bay right now on Kitchenaid Mixers, that you might want to look into!

    4. I use online classifieds quite often - I like Kijiji too. I just got my husband a set of cross country skis for Christmas - used but in great condition for $30. Skis, poles and boots! He will be so surprised!

    5. omg, skis, poles and boots for $30? That’s amazing!

    6. Hey SQ,

I use a site http://www.bargainchecker.com which searches for misspelled items, I have found lots of deals!

    7. The misspelling would’ve never occured to me. Thanks.
I really, really want a Kitchenaid to speed up my baking and ease of convenience! Every year I’m waiting to see if they will go down to the double-digits. I saw $199 at the Bay but I’d rather not pay that. I love to bake & still do it the old-fashioned way…the slow way.

    8. I’m in Mountain Time Zone..funny it seems I’m up in the middle night when I read that 2:16 am : ). LOL
