The multi-purpose kleenex box
Posted on December 8th, 2008 5 commentsA fun way to stay organized and recycle packaging - reuse a kleenex box as a plastic bag holder. Simply cut-out the plastic part and stuff your plastic grocery bags inside. I did the same with an empty ziploc box for all my bread bags. I recently ran out of my stash of ziplocs (we stocked up at a big loony sale at Price Chopper last spring) and now I’m trying to come up with a stand-in solution so I don’t have to buy new ones. For now, I’m using bread bags and plastic vegetable bags. The empty Ziploc container is useful to hold them all. I love finding new things to do with packaging!

I agree. I stash plastic bags in there (from times when I’ve forgotten to bring my cloth bags & bins to the grocery store). They’re great for housing pens, pencils, pencil crayons(kids) by cutting a bit off the top. You buy them with decorative designs so why throw them out? Also, I’ve cut the top off and threw sos pads in there so I don’t have to look at the ugly no name box when I grab a new one. My daughter uses them to build houses and rooms for her “Littlest Pet Shop” toys. Great crafts and more.

Wrapping for Xmas/Hanukkah presents!
Put the present inside, stuff the hole at the top with some coloured tissue paper. Works great, especially given the pretty boxes nowadays.
