I heart junk mail!

This week has been a great week for freebies. First I got two Gillette Phenom Fushion Razors for free, plus overage. It is the first time in my life that I have ever actually made money by using a coupon (The first Shoppers I went to did not allow overage but the second Shoppers I went to honoured the coupon in full and I got the razor for free, plus I made $3.) We got two free coupons for Coke products, two coupons for free organic coffee at Second Cup, one coupon for a free box of Kashi cereal, and two free $10 gift cards at Marks Work Warehouse (minimum purchase is $10 so it’s free stuff! I am going to get a much-needed water bottle and travel mug at $10 each.) Apart from the Coke coupons, which was a freebie from icoke.ca, the gift certificates for free coffee and free stuff at Marks Work Warehouse just showed up in my mailbox as part of the junk mail. This is a reminder to clean out your mailbox - you never know what might show up in there! As Christmas time approaches, stores get increasingly competitive. So watch for sales and coupons to take advantage of the best deals and freebies!

Would you explain to me “overage”. I haven’t experienced this yet. Does it mean the coupon’s for $10, but the sale was $7 so they credited you $3? And was it cash back, store credit, or just $3 deducted from you total bill??

I have also never heard of overage!

I got the Mark’s Work Warehouse gift cards in the flyers from the newspaper this morning and I also recieved a free coke coupon from icoke! I have requested a coupon for the free Kashi Cereal but haven’t seen it yet! I hope it comes!

I do like finding great stuff in the mail and I read the newspaper aslo to find free entertainment in our community. A few weeks ago our recreation centre held a free family swim night! My daughter loves the pool so that was really nice!

I got a letter from rogers today with their promotion. If you are paying for lite internet service you can get high speed for the same price ($37 instead of $47)for 6 months.

Hi Andrea - overage does mean they credit you $3 if teh product is $7 but the coupon is for $10. And they deduct the price from your total bill! Good deal, eh? Overage is a lot more popular in the States. Good coupon deals like that are harder to find here.

Cara - My Kashi cereal coupon took a while to come. I ordered mine around Thanksgiving. Great suggestion to look at the local newspaper to find free local entertainment!

Thanks SaverQueen. I’ve always wondered that. I haven’t purchased a product yet that was less than coupon but I figured that if that does happen, the retailer submits the coupon in whole to that company to get their money, so they really should be refunding it so they’re not profiting on your coupon find.
Great blog by the way. I love it.

One of the good deals I scored today at Superstore(here-Loblaws there)was Pantene Pro-v Expressions-it was $6.99 on sale for Shampoo with BONUS conditioner plus I had a $2.00 off coupon x2 from save.ca. I bought two packs..works out to $2.49 each and they regularly sell for $5.99-6.99.
One more(I really used a ton of coupons today, but)Tampax pearl tampons 36ct is $7.99, then $1.00 off store coupon, plus I had a $2.00 off coupon from save.ca. So $4.99 for the 36ct box plus I found a box that had a BONUS Venus Embrace 5-blade razor inside and a $2.00 coupon inside for the venus razor 4 or 8 pack.
